The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is looking to recruit an Engagement and Customer Services Team Leader for its European Office based in Brussels.

Job Summary

The Engagement and Customer Services Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the Engagement and Customer Services team in the IAPP Brussels office. The Team Leader is responsible for managing the engagement operations, programs and volunteers in Europe. The Team Leader will also have oversight of all European member and customer support operations and administration. This person will work closely with counterparts in the IAPP Headquarters office to ensure processes and procedures are developed or followed appropriately given the needs in the European office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Member Engagement

  • Oversee the Member Engagement team members;
  • In collaboration with the HQ Engagement team work on volunteer management and recruitment processes;
  • Ensures consistency and efficiency for all programs, products and initiatives;
  • Ensures all logistics and operations for the KnowledgeNet Chapter program are followed by the team;
  • Works with the team to manage the volunteers and provide programs and support that aid in self-management.

Customer Services

  • Oversee the Customer Services team members;
  • Have a strong understanding of IAPP products and offerings;
  • Monitor daily workflow and ensure that correct procedures are followed;
  • Respond to and resolve escalated and/or unique or complex requests from customers;
  • Work closely with the HQ Customer services team to ensure procedures are followed.

Additional Duties

  • Event support for IAPP events in Europe;
  • Ad hoc support of operational priorities as coordinated by the European Operations Manager;
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent;
  • Two or more years leading a small cross departmental team is desirable;
  • No data protection sector knowledge required, but an asset.

Language & Computer Skills

The working language of the IAPP is English, the candidate must be fluent in English. At least one other European language is required (French and/or German preferred). Microsoft office is a must. Understanding of SalesForce or equivalent CRM tool desirable. Specific training will be provided for IAPP tools.

Additional Information

The candidate must have the ability and authorization to work in the European Union. He/she must also have the ability and willingness to travel throughout Europe and the USA. On-boarding and orientation meetings, including training of IAPP tools will be provided.
